How do SpeedTaps™ work in an impact wrench?

A SpeedTaps™ have been engineered with changes to the heat treatment compared to most hand taps allowing them to take the impact from an impact wrench increasing productivity 14 to 1 over tapping by hand.

Is lubrication required?

A Standard tapping oil is recommended to increase tool life. We will have our own tapping oil available for purchase.

How many holes can I thread with one SpeedTap™ when using an impact wrench?

A Independent test results indicate approximately 200 holes can be threaded, representing hours of labor saved over the life of a SpeedTap™.

Why don’t SpeedTaps™ go all the way through the hole?

Our full-size shaft maximizes strength as well as aids in the easy reversal of a SpeedTap™ from the work.

What makes a SpeedTap™ last?

The SpeedTap™ is driven through the hole at a constant speed when using an impact driver. The conventional hand driven tap is rotated around the hole at irregular speeds increasing the torque demands on the tap possibly causing breakage.
